Platform teams up with Philadelphia based brewery for special Philly Beer Week IPA

Platform Beer Co. and Free Will Brewing Join Forces

Cleveland, OH/Philadelphia, PA — Cleveland brewing outfit Platform Beer Co. and Philadelphia-based Free Will Brewing announced today that they are collaborating on a limited release can to be debuted during Philly Beer Week, beginning June 1. The beer, a Hazy IPA, dubbed “Round Trip 862”, is the first collaborative venture between the two breweries.

In a press release, Platform noted that “Round Trip 862 explodes with juicy tropical fruit, succulent melon and berry preserve aromas.  A mild haze, full body and dry finish allow for the bounty of fruit flavors to cascade across the palate in fine fashion ranging from tart and fruity starfruit, lime, and gooseberry to luscious watermelon, citrus supreme and honeydew. The beer comes in at 7.0% abv and 0 IBU.”

The collaboration brew will be available in kegs at the Free Willing Tasting Room along with a number of special tappings throughout the region during Philly Beer Week. 12 oz. cans will also be distributed to select account for to-go sales.

Platform, which began as an brewery incubator business in Cleveland in 2014, has been distributing in the Philadelphia Market for a year, along with other East-Coast Markets such as New York City, Connecticut and New Jersey. They were recently named one of the fifty fastest growing breweries in the country by the Brewers Association (BA) craft brewers trade group.

Free Will Brewing Co. has been brewing since 2012 in the small town Perkasie, PA located just outside Philadelphia. The brewery produces a wide variety of craft ales, lagers and an extensive portfolio of barrel aged sour/wild ales.
