Cincinnati area breweries band together for Dayton Tornado relief

Cincinnati, OH — As many as five tornadoes ripped through the Dayton and Celina areas on Monday night causing widespread damage. At least one person was killed.

A number of Cincinnati area breweries were among the first businesses to step forward with an offer of help. In a press release from Taft’s Brewing Company, brewery spokesperson Erin Weinert stated that “All Cincy breweries have been asked to join forces to help those in need following the devastating events.”

Here are some details from the press release:

What: Cincinnati breweries are rallying together to support our neighbors in the north! Breweries can support the effort however they see fit; donating items, hosting donation drop-off sites, donating to Red Cross, hosting fundraising nights, etc. 

When: Now  Friday morning (Taft’s Brewing Co & Grainworks Brewing Co will be driving all donated items to Dayton Friday afternoon, 5/31. Rhinegeist Brewery will be doing an additional drop off on Monday morning, 6/3.)

  • Taft’s Brewing Co.: 
    • Donation drop off site at Taft’s Brewpourium: bottled water, non-perishable food items, clothing

    3 Points Urban Brewery:

    • Donating bottled water, volunteering to organize donation items 

    Grainworks Brewing Co:

      • Donation drop off site; bottled water, non-perishable food, clothing
  • March First Brewing: 
      • Donation drop off site; bottled water, non-perishable food, clothing

  • Little Miami Brewing Co: 
      • Fundraising pint night this Friday – new milk stout will be named ‘Dayton Strong’ & $1 from every pint sold will go directly to relief efforts

  • Rhinegeist Brewery: 
      • Donation drop off site through Sunday 6/2; bottled water, non-perishable food, clothing
      • Helping to run another round of donations to Dayton on Monday
